Timoulilt preschool program 2020/2019

chidren in new classroom

As part of the start of the 2019/2020 school year for preschool education, supported by the ATD in Timoulilt/ Morocco, the children joined the school on 05/09/2019.

The registration process and the class schedules took place in good conditions. The instructors as well as the director of the ATD mobilized for the return to take place as planned. On this occasion, we thank them for their tireless efforts in the field of rural education where working conditions are not always easy given the problem of remoteness as well as lack of transportation which remains a challenge.

Note that the number of registrants this year so far is 124 children in 06 classes.

It should be noted that, contrary to the difficult conditions in which the instructors and children worked before the TMP project, undertaken in partnership with Belvidere Rotary Club (USA), we are now seeing a radical change on all levels: work, attendance, motivation, delivery methods and performance. We can all take pride in this positive impact and, at the same time, thank our partners who were behind this noble project. Thanks to the efficiency of this project (TMP) and its amenities, Timoulilt’s children and their instructors work with ease under very favorable conditions compared to previous years as explained by the following facts:

  • Completely refurbished and well-equipped classrooms are more welcoming. The children feel at home in a relaxed and enjoyable environment.
  • The use of magnetic boards instead of blackboards no longer poses health problems for children who are allergic to chalk dust.
  • Renovated classrooms offer comfortable areas that allow children to work at ease, it also allows for better performance
  • The availability of teaching and educational materials makes learning more interesting and appreciated by children
  • The acquisition of building blocks, games and puzzles, thanks to the TMP project, allows children to develop their creative spirit and self-confidence, thus blossoming smoothly
  • Also, because classes have LCD panels, children can watch a cartoon or listen to a song or story from time to time; a nonexistent medium in the past. Similarly, the use of laptops and computer equipment provided to the instructors allows to do research and enrich their knowledge and expertise.

All these new unusual activities that the TMP project has given us have filled our children with happiness. Admittedly, this diversity in terms of pleasant practices leaves no room for monotony or indifference; it is really a revolution in the preschool program in Timoulilt.

Another well appreciated realization of the TMP project, is the addition of a playground which adds to the joy of the children; its facilities (swings and slides, teeter totters etc..) allow children to discover another way to have fun and let off steam during breaks and during free moments. All these novelties, constitute the great satisfaction for our children who were in the recent past deprived of this type of games and recreation which has a great impact on a child’s development.

In conclusion, the entire village population recognizes with great joy the important impact of the TMP project on the improvement of preschool education in Timoulilt.

Indeed, this observation has been clearly visible on several levels:

  • The motivation of the instructors
  • Newly improved adapted delivery methods
  • The assiduity of the children
  • Improved results
  • The satisfaction of parents who are starting to believe in the effectiveness of pre-school education and its usefulness in the development of their offspring.

Finally, following all the aforementioned positive contributions of the TMP Project, on behalf of all the members of the Executive Board of the ATD, on behalf of the young children of Timoulilt, on behalf of the instructors and on my own behalf, I would like to thank Belvidere Rotary Club (USA) and all those who had taken part closely or remotely in the success of this humanitarian project that we hold dear.

All my cordial friendships.

Ahmed FALAH: in charge of the preschool component within the ATD.
